A Logo as Bold as the Art It Represents

Burlesque Academy Malta (B.A.M.), the island’s first and only burlesque academy, led by the sensational Undine LaVerve, returns with a refreshed identity that reflects its evolution. Having created the original B.A.M. logo years earlier, RAFiott was invited once again to reimagine the brand—this time with a more unified connection to Undine LaVerve’s personal branding and a fresh wink at the island’s cultural identity.

This updated B.A.M. logo builds on the foundations of glamour, sex appeal, and Maltese heritage. Designed to capture the essence of modern burlesque and B.A.M.’s unapologetically bold ethos, the new logo amplifies personality, symbolism, and brand cohesion.

A Visual Identity in Sync with the Headmistress

The revised typography borrows directly from the typeface used in Undine LaVerve’s own logo—bold, curvaceous, and full of character—mirroring the spirit of burlesque performers. This choice unites the two visual brands while embracing the seductive strength and theatricality at the core of B.A.M.

Within the negative space of the “B” lies a hidden detail: a stylised breast adorned with a pastie and tassel, proudly brandishing the Maltese cross. It’s a cheeky nod to both the artform and the island’s iconic symbol—sensual, subversive, and unmistakably Maltese.

Wrapped in Symbolism

The logo is elegantly flanked by a flowing pink feather boa—a visual shorthand for the world of burlesque. Light, playful, and irresistibly eye-catching, the boa adds motion and flair, reinforcing the brand’s performative nature and the celebration of femininity in all its forms.

Flexible Formats, Consistent Identity

To ensure versatility across platforms and media, the logo was developed in multiple versions:

  • A detailed full-colour version featuring the boa and textured letterforms.
  • A clean, black-and-white version for high-contrast printing and social media icons.
  • simplified mono-colour version for use on merchandise and digital platforms.

Burlesque Branding with Maltese Soul

This updated logo does more than look the part—it tells a story. Through subtle symbolism, refined typography, and layered design, it communicates B.A.M.’s unique position at the intersection of performance, empowerment, and local pride.
