Inspired by the traditional Maltese luzzu, common in picturesque fishing villages like Marsaxlokk, this design reflects the artist’s nostalgic memories of serene summer days by the sea.

A distinctive feature of this t-shirt is the sentient boat’s serene expression and bushy eyebrows, a nod to the Mediterranean tradition of adorning vessels with protective “Luzzu Eyes“. These eyes, a practice dating back to ancient Egypt, are believed to safeguard sailors from malevolent spirits and are a prominent symbol of Malta, recurring in the artist’s work.
