The “Pride YELLOW [T-Shirt] | RAFiott X ARC” underscores the importance of the yellow stripe on the Pride flag, representing healing. The rainbow flag, created by Gilbert Baker in the 1970s, remains a powerful symbol for the queer community, gaining further significance after Harvey Milk’s assassination. The modern six-colour version of the flag continues to embody profound meanings, with orange signifying healing.

The design draws from traditional Sicilian art, reflecting historical connections between Sicily and Malta. RAFiott, having spent part of his youth in Sicily, infuses the design with a Mediterranean spirit. The t-shirt merges traditional aesthetics with a celebration of queer identity, featuring a sun with bold drag makeup and heart-shaped jewels, honouring performers who challenge gender norms and fight oppression globally.

The jewels on the sun’s cheeks reference the local song “Xemx,” with lyrics “ġawra ta’ qalbi,” linking to Maltese roots while celebrating individuality and pride. Wearing this t-shirt during and after PRIDE not only signifies healing and self-care but also showcases Malta’s rich cultural heritage.
