EuroPRIDE 2023 saw Malta transform into a vibrant hub for LGBTQIA+ celebration and advocacy, as the island embraced its role as a beacon of inclusivity and progress. This initiative builds on the success of the MeliTENSION Exhibition by RAFiott from the previous year. Designed by Gilbert Baker, the rainbow flag has been a symbol of the queer community since the 1970s, particularly gaining prominence after the assassination of Harvey Milk. Although simplified from its original version, the modern 6-colour Pride flag retains the deep meanings of its colours, with orange symbolising healing.
