Introducing the Red Venus Colour-Changing Mug, a unique and meaningful design inspired by the neolithic Maltese fertility goddess, affectionately known as “the Fat Lady of Malta“. This design is the result of the ARC // RAFiott Collaboration on EuroPride 2023’s merchandise, and it’s now available for purchase as different RAFiott products.
Red Venus is based on the significance of the colour red within the Pride flag, representing life. The Fat Lady is believed to have been revered as a goddess of fertility, and this illustration depicts her enjoying a pastizz and a bottle of a local orange-flavoured soft drink, both iconic of life on the island. The design also features a red ribbon, symbolizing the medical advancements that redefined HIV as a liveable disease.
This artwork has also been selected by the Malta Community of Illustrators to be added to the 2023 Malta Illustration Annual, making it a must-have for any art lover’s collection.
